"The woman in my painting is like a dreamer. She looks out of the canvas trying to escape from her reality, but she can't. Her reality is a small cafe with a stranger, who's talking to her about, maybe, nothing. I painted this bright painting to get the feeling of contrast between reality and perfect happiness or dream, which, I think, is so important in life. A smiling young woman, looking straight at the viewer and who knows what’s on her mind. While we can't see the other person in the picture, we know for sure that she's listening to someone talk. She is the observer, the one who is never tired of showing empathy for others. It’s like a long and sweet dream where we travel to some fantastic places that never existed in reality, and we enjoy ourselves there, so far away from our awake. This girl is one of those travelers."
