Painted in 1913 was Composition VII by Wassily Kandinsky. It is known to be the pinnacle of his artistic achievement. It’s a painting of colors and shapes and is thought of as the most complex piece of Kandinsky.

This is the most notable and most expensive drip painting of Jackson Pollock. People call it the “epitome of Abstract Expressionism.”

Broadway Boogie Woogie

This geometric painting by Piet Mondrian was inspired by Manhattan and the song Broadway Boogie Woogie. The painting follows Mondrian’s using of straight lines and the three primary colors, and shades of white, grey, and black.

Mountains and Sea

Made by pouring turpentine-thinned paint onto the canvas, Mountains and Sea is now considered as Helen Frankenthaler’s most famous painting. It was also the first work of hers exhibited professionally.

Wassily Kandinsky

Wassily Kandinsky rose to fame in the art world in the 1910s. He pioneered abstract art, earning him the title “Father of Abstract Art.” His most renowned work is Composition VII.

Jackson Pollock

Jackson Pollock is known in drip painting. He’s so good at it that people started calling him “Jack the Dripper.” His most notable creation is Number 5,1984, which also has the world record for the highest price among the paintings sold; it was sold for $104 million.

Piet Mondrian

This Dutch painter is known for coining the term “neoplasticism.” His abstract art is made with straight lines, the three primary colors, and black, white, and grey hues. His most renowned piece is Broadway Boogie Woogie.

Georgia O'Keeffe

Georgia O'Keeffe is the most famous female abstract artist, but that is not the only thing she is known for. She was also named one of the most influential figures in 20th-century art. She was even given the Presidential Medal of Freedom in the year 1977. Her pieces are known to be large, close up, and sensual representations of flowers. Her most famous art is the gorgeous Black Iris III.

Mark Rothko

Mark Rothko is known to have pioneered color field painting. His most notable work is Orange, Red, Yellow, which he painted in 1961.
